Petition request
That the House of Representatives pass legislation addressing the issue of transnational repression, which refers to actions by foreign governments or their agents that cross national borders to intimidate, silence, coerce, harass, or harm members of diaspora and exile communities or organisations that advocate for these individuals.
Petition reason
I am concerned by reports about Indian government agencies targeting Sikh activists globally, including claims in the last two years that the Indian government was involved in the killing or attempted killing of Sikh activists in Canada and the United States. I feel this clearly shows the intentions of the Indian government toward Sikh activists and Khalistan supporters, so for the safety of Sikhs we request the New Zealand Parliament to pass a bill addressing this issue.
