Petition request

That the House of Representatives urge the Government to reinstate the previous school lunches programme.

Petition reason

In my experience, the previous school lunch programme delivered locally-made lunches we felt were tasty and nutritious, but has been replaced with one that has seen meals arriving late (or not at all) including food that is burnt and inedible. To us, the meals are low in nutrition and don’t taste as good. As a result, some students throw them away uneaten, leading to more waste. Overall, we believe this does not help solve the issue of food insecurity and students learn better on a full stomach.
