That the House of Representatives launch an independent inquiry into police culture to investigate whether standard police processes are followed and whether allegations against police officers are handled with appropriate care and independence and are not deliberately bypassed.

Petition reason

It is 18 years since Dame Margaret Bazley's report into Police Conduct. Recently,17 police officers have been investigated for viewing inappropriate content, over 100 police officers investigated after 30,000 falsified alcohol breath tests, a former Police Commissioner made what I think are serious allegations about Ministers of Police, and a former Deputy Police Commissioner was convicted of possessing child sex abuse and bestiality material. I think it is time for a full, independent inquiry.
