Petition request

That the House of Representatives prohibit entry into New Zealand by citizens of any country for which the head of state or head of government has an active arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court.

Petition reason

I propose this would prevent discourse and ideals of countries whose leaders are charged with war crimes from being allowed to enter New Zealand. I believe that by taking a stand, we can set a precedent that shows the world that we will remain New Zealand-focused and protect our own ideals. I think our ideals have led to peace more than war for many years. To me, this is not racism, rather it is desperation to prevent negative discourse in a country that I believe would be fast consumed by it.
