Petition request

That the House of Representatives amend the Therapeutic Products Bill to enable patients to import prescription meds, reflect how clinical trials operate through SCOTT Committee, change the definition of “advertisement” so it does not risk criminalising patients, advocates & media, and incorporate s 29 of the Medicines Act 1981.

Petition reason

These issues have been highlighted by submitters to the Health Committee, including patients, patient advocates & media. We hold grave concerns about unregistered medicine access under compassionate access schemes, via clinical trials, mail/courier importation by prescription. We also hold major fears that the definition of advertisement under the proposed bill could result in patients, patient advocates & media being criminalised for publicly speaking about funding, unfunded medicine.
