That the House of Representatives establish clear and specific criteria for using urgency in Parliament.

Petition reason

We believe urgency should only be used for genuine emergencies, however, we think it is sometimes used to run through major laws without proper scrutiny or public input. We call for explicit criteria - limited to real emergencies, urgent international deadlines or situations where delay causes harm. We believe this would ensure Parliament remains transparent, accountable and democratic.
