Petition request

That the House of Representatives urge the Government to join South Africa’s International Court of Justice case against Israel concerning genocide in Gaza, sanction Israel and their supporters violating international law, recognise Palestinian statehood, and increase humanitarian aid funding to the United Nations Relief & Works Agency.

Petition reason

We believe: given what in our view is overwhelming evidence of war crimes, our country must take a strong stance against Israel by joining South Africa’s ICJ case of genocide; NZ must sanction Israel and their supporters following the ICJ ruling that the occupation of Palestine is illegal; as NZ endorses a two-state solution, it must recognise a Palestine state in alignment with most of the international community; NZ must increase funding to UNRWA, as the key aid distributor in the Gaza Strip.
