That the House of Representatives initiate an inquiry concerning parents who feel they have been wrongly accused of injuring their baby through shaking or squeezing.
Petition reason
After publishing the story of one family, award-winning investigative journalists Reid and Sumner have been contacted by many more accused of shaking or squeezing their baby based on a medical diagnosis which has been challenged by some (see the recent podcast series Fractured and Diagnosis of a Crime). They have had their children taken away and in some cases been gaoled. I want Parliament to hear the stories of parents who have been accused and hold a wide-ranging inquiry.
