That the House of Representatives urge the Government to increase the number of public gold fossicking areas in New Zealand.
Petition reason
There have been few new designated gold fossicking areas established since their inception in 1991. I think the recreational gold prospecting community has increased exponentially, putting existing areas in high demand. I believe the best solution is to increase the number of gold fossicking areas throughout New Zealand, and include areas in the North Island, so that recreational gold prospectors can access more areas for free without the need to apply for a permit.
