That the House of Representatives require all members of Parliament—including the Prime Minister, Ministers, party leaders, and all other MPs—to undergo mandatory mental health testing at regular intervals under an independent, transparent, and consistently applied framework.
Petition reason
Members of Parliament hold positions of public trust and make decisions that affect every New Zealander. In my view, mandatory mental health testing to flag psychopathies and age-related mental health degradation, with appropriate interventions, would establish consistent accountability standards across all political parties, promote transparency, and strengthen public confidence in Parliament.
