Petition request

That the House of Representatives urge the Government to change the Parent Resident Visa EOI to: remove 2 years expiry; waive the reapplication fee; select most EOIs in order of original date of submission then run a bonus draw from the unselected EOIs each time; and increase the annual cap back to 5500 as it was between 2012 and 2016.

Petition reason

I believe a queue system provides more certainty, fairness and transparency. I propose the ballot system remain for fast-track opportunities for balance. Without a queue system as the main selection method, the ballot system is a lottery purely, which I think is just unfair, inhumane, immoral, costly and gives no certainty for life planning. I also want to have the 2-year EOI expiry removed or the reapplication fee waived, the annual cap increased back to 5500 as it was between 2012 and 2016.
