Petition request
That the House of Representatives require the Government to release the information that was withheld under section 9(2)(h) of the Official Information Act 1982 (to maintain legal professional privilege) from the document “Initial advice on the domestic use of Covid-19 vaccination certificates”.
Petition reason
The information was withheld despite my request for it under the Official Information Act. Taxpayers paid for advice on the legal issues of vax passes from a lawyer. In my view: there is strong public interest in releasing this legal advice because the vax passes had a big impact on (‘the team of’) 5 million New Zealanders; this advice was far reaching on the whole country; and we have a right to know this advice under the OIA in the interests of transparency and accountability.
