Petition request

That the House of Representatives urge the Prime Minister to review whether the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rt Hon Winston Peters, has met standards expected of a Cabinet Minister and, if not, to remove him from the role; and urge all members to hold standards of respectful and professional conduct.

Petition reason

We believe that Cabinet Ministers, particularly those representing New Zealand internationally, should consistently demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and respectful conduct. We are concerned that public statements and conduct in July 2026 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rt Hon Winston Peters, have raised questions about whether those standards have been met and whether such conduct reflects the values expected of someone representing New Zealand internationally.
