That the House of Representatives urge the Government to incorporate voices with lived experience of eating disorders into a review of Health Star Ratings (HSR), with a view to considering whether HSRs should be discontinued.

Petition reason

Minister Reti made pre-election comments that HSRs should be reviewed. I think any review or development of HSRs or alternative Front-of-Package Nutritional Labels (such as warning labels) should include people affected by eating disorders to protect those most at risk. Instead, I believe alternatives to incentivising food reformulation should be explored (e.g. Pigouvian Tax) and nutritional interventions should focus on eradicating food inequities.
