Petition request
That the House of Representatives urge the Government to amend the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights to by inserting a right to receive patient-led, non-invasive, and non-surgical care—including needle-free, drug-free, and non-anaesthetic options—within the home where clinically appropriate.
Petition reason
Medical and dental protocols often rely on sedation and invasive procedures that I consider can cause trauma, especially for those with special needs or dental phobias. New Zealand-led technology, such as jet-injection, may now enable safe, autonomous, and needle-free care at home. I believe that formally recognising a right to such care in the HDC Code of Rights will enhance patient autonomy, eliminate clinical fear, and ensure trauma-free healthcare is a right rather than a luxury.
