Petition request

That the House of Representatives initiate a nationwide review of Māori Land Court administration and service delivery, examining potential systemic failures obstructing whānau access to justice and whenua.

Petition reason

I have heard that many Māori landowners are frustrated by chronic delays, unanswered correspondence, inconsistent advice, lost or repeatedly requested documents, and applications languishing for months or years. These kind of failures can obstruct succession, trust governance, and whānau seeking to establish papakāinga on Māori whenua. I believe whānau should not have to battle court administration to exercise their whenua rights, and that independent scrutiny is urgently required.
