Petition request

That the House of Representatives urge the Government to take urgent action to better protect emergency frontline workers from assault and abuse.

Petition reason

We, the undersigned, call upon the Government to take immediate and decisive action to protect emergency responders from assault and abuse in the course of their duties. Emergency responders—including ambulance staff, firefighters, communication centre staff, police officers, and hospital staff—may put their lives at risk when they serve and protect our communities. However, some are increasingly subjected to unacceptable levels of violence and aggression while on duty.
