That the House of Representatives appropriate funding and direct development of an East Auckland Hospital at 292 and 260 Botany Road and immediately purchase 280 Botany Road for land-banking to support future extensions.
Petition reason
East Auckland is one of New Zealand’s fastest growing urban areas and represents Auckland’s largest local board population. I believe that East Auckland needs its own hospital, which would incorporate Botany Road’s birthing unit and dental clinic, rather than relying on Middlemore, which is struggling. In my view, East Aucklanders need better access to hospital-level care in emergencies. I believe that as taxpayers, East Aucklanders have a right to better hospital access.
