That the House of Representatives pass legislation to ban live kōura, crayfish, and fishes in tanks in restaurants in Aotearoa.
Petition reason
I want to stop the practice of live kōura, crayfish, and fish tanks in restaurants because I believe they are places of torture for decapod crustaceans and fishes. They await slaughter in what I believe are overcrowded, barren, brightly lit tanks. I believe that many are not stunned before slaughter. The Crustastun is designed to stun crustaceans and is a quick way of killing a crustacean: death in under 10 seconds.
