That the House of Representatives end the postponement of the Social Media (Age-Restricted Users) Bill.

Petition reason

We believe social media is not suitable for youth to have access to and that it causes much harm to users under the age of 16. For young teens in New Zealand, social media has been shown to disrupt sleep, harm mental health (increasing anxiety and depression), and expose them to cyberbullying. Because the adolescent brain is still maturing, I think algorithms designed to maximise screen time can negatively affect identity formation and self-esteem.
