That the House of Representatives formally embed He Whakaputanga o te Rangatiratanga o Nu Tireni (1835) and Te Tiriti o Waitangi (1840) into New Zealand law, granting them supremacy over other laws and ensuring legal recognition without compromising the tino rangatiratanga of whānau, hapū, and iwi.

Petition reason

I am petitioning for He Whakaputanga o te Rangatiratanga o Nu Tireni (1835) and Te Tiriti o Waitangi (1840) to be embedded in law, ensuring their supremacy over other laws without compromising the authority of whānau, hapū, and iwi. I believe successive governments have failed to honour these, eroding Māori sovereignty & breaching indigenous rights, and that legally embedding them will protect tino rangatiratanga, uphold international commitments, & restore constitutional integrity in Aotearoa.
