Petition request

That the House of Representatives urge the Government to advocate that the Japanese government stops running the 12 nuclear reactors in the southern part of Japan, to prevent a nuclear crisis in the event of a major earthquake and tsunami.

Petition reason

It is projected that a M8.4 earthquake could occur in southern Japan in the next 30 years, and that 320,000 people could be subsequently killed by a tsunami. We believe this would create a nuclear crisis in Japan, which would be a man-made crisis. In our opinion, the most important step toward the solution is to stop the 12 active nuclear reactors in southern Japan. We believe we have to solve these problems before the next earthquake, to save our lives and the lives of people in the world.
