Petition request

That the House of Representatives urge the Government to resume visa assessment processes for the partners of postgraduate students and allow partners with valid visas to enter New Zealand, and note that 333 people have signed a change.org petition with a similar request.

Petition reason

We are postgraduate students who contribute in many spheres in New Zealand. Applying for PhD positions, we accepted conditions that were offered to our families as well. Recently, the Government announced a border exception which allows some postgraduate students to enter New Zealand with their families. But some of us already in New Zealand have not seen partners for many months. Being separated from our families is affecting our mental health, efficiency and ability to focus on the research.
