That the House of Representatives not implement a social media ban for people under the age of 16.

Petition reason

I believe: internet rules should protect children, not restrict them; blocking children from social media would isolate them and drive them to unregulated parts of the internet; a ban would remove a way for children to express themselves and to seek and receive information; it would infringe on the NZ Bill of Rights; asking people to give IDs to companies with a reputation for data leaks would breach Privacy Act Principle 4 and intrude to an unreasonable extent on people’s personal affairs.
