That the House of Representatives urge the Government to grant border exemptions and MIQ spaces to all overseas partners of NZ citizens, residents, and temporary visa holders, to allow families to be reunited.
Petition reason
Many of us are in committed long-distance relationships, but are cut off from our partners and children outside New Zealand. Some children and genuine lovers are experiencing the toughest time of their lives. Every family has a different story but many have the same pain, despair and sadness. It’s not necessary to classify the type of partner and family member. During the pandemic, we need our lovers and family members to be together to support each other. The uncertain waiting is devastating.
