That the House of Representatives urge the Government to fund innovative mRNA and needle-free platform vaccine development research.

Petition reason

I believe traditional vaccine timelines leave NZ vulnerable, while in my opinion COVID-19 proved mRNA platforms and rolling reviews can safely deliver results in months. Local research is considering needle-free delivery—like nasal sprays, edibles, and skin patches—which could address the needle phobia that affects 1 in 4 people and causes 1 in 10 to avoid vaccination. We urge the Government to fund local vaccine research, for faster, more accessible, and pain-free protection for all Kiwis.
