That the House of Representatives ban the consumption of alcohol.
Petition reason
A NZ 2009 study found over half of physical and sexual assaults involved a perpetrator who had been drinking. Alcohol costs the economy billions of dollars. I believe alcohol's economic contribution is far less than its healthcare, law enforcement and lost productivity costs. In my view, cannabis is more harmless. I feel it's inconsistent that recreational use of cannabis is illegal while alcohol is not. I believe that tradition is not an excuse to allow the consumption of alcohol to continue.
