That the House of Representatives require organisations providing disability support services or mental health inpatient care to provide disorder-specific training for staff before working with individuals who have health needs & safety risks associated with a particular disorder/health condition.

Petition reason

Our son died at just 20 yrs old. He had Prader-Willi syndrome but was physically healthy before being placed in an unprepared residential facility that we think was inappropriate. We raised concerns about the placement and lack of training that we feel were ignored. We provided PWS information and recommended training, but health risks were not shared and training was not prioritised. His health deteriorated and after six months he died, which we believe was avoidable with training.
