That the House of Representatives require builders of new houses to provide a minimum of 2 car parks on the houses’ own land area.
Petition reason
Being either a buyer or a tenant for a new house, we often see that almost all new houses do not even provide a single carpark in their own land areas, but instead ask buyers or tenants to park on the streets. We also think that the parking should be explained in home advertisements and listings. In our opinion, having car park spaces within people’s own boundaries could help avoid hit and run cases. We think it could also allow people to drive more safely and reach their destinations faster.
