That the House of Representatives inquire into delays by the Office of the Ombudsman in completing complaints, as well as capacity constraints and resourcing adequacy in fulfilling its Official Information Act responsibilities.
Petition reason
I believe that delays in resolving investigations undertaken by the Ombudsman weaken the Official Information Act, obstruct public oversight, and diminish trust in government transparency. In my opinion, structural and resourcing issues must be examined to ensure the Office of the Ombudsman can meet its statutory duties without undue delay.
