Petition request
That the House of Representatives amend clause 65 of the Social Security Regulations 2018 to not require Temporary Additional Support (TAS) to be recalculated if income changes because a recipient finds casual or part-time employment.
Petition reason
In my opinion, many New Zealanders are facing an economic crisis and beneficiaries face it tougher. I think beneficiaries increasingly need TAS; without it I feel many beneficiaries would end up homeless, in poor housing, or without sufficient food. Not all beneficiaries can work, but I think beneficiaries should be able to keep their TAS at their current entitlement if they find casual or part-time, but I feel tri-monthly reviews should still be conducted to ensure nobody is working full-time.
