That the House of Representatives allow bona fide competitive shooters from gun clubs to own banned semi-automatic rifles for competition.
Petition reason
I believe that: since the ban on most semi-automatic rifles we Kiwis have been unable to practise or compete on an equal footing with other nations in a variety of international shooting competitions; we already have robust regulation in place for weapons such as pistols; by implementing similar measures, the Government will be able to completely regulate the ownership of semi-automatic weapons and reintroduce New Zealanders to international competitions.
