That the House of Representatives urge the Government to extend all current active supplementary seasonal employment (SSE) visas by another year from the end of the current expiry date (30/06/21) to 30/06/22.

Petition reason

I support the previous extension of working holiday visas (WHVs) to SSE visas. There were farms letting their fruits perish from not having the usual workers. 11,000 WHV holders were issued SSE visas. This saved the fruit industry in New Zealand this season and in turn let travellers stay in a safe country whilst a global crisis was taking place. If extended, SSE workers can attend to vital maintenance/harvest over the next year. It is surely a great deal for both the Government and workers.
