That the House of Representatives urge the Government to impose sanctions on Israel (including sanctions on settlers in the West Bank) until Israel has withdrawn from all Palestinian territory and it has reverted to the borders established for Israel under the UN Mandate of 1947 (Resolution 181).
Petition reason
New Zealand supports a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine problem, like many other countries. However, Israel has resisted this solution for many years. It continues to encroach on Palestinian land in the West Bank illegally. It has pushed its borders well beyond those conferred under the UN Mandate Resolution 181 of 1947. It unlawfully imprisons Palestinians in Gaza, and kills civilians by the thousands. I believe Israel must be incentivised to withdraw from all Palestinian territories.
