That the House of Representatives urge Immigration New Zealand to only change immigration policies after 5 years, to help keep migrants eligible for further working visas or residency permits, to put upcoming changes from July 2021 on hold, and rules should be relaxed for migrants who are onshore and offshore.

Petition reason

Immigration NZ should only change its immigration policies after 5 years, to help keep migrants eligible for further working visas or residency permits. Changes from July 2021 in immigration rules should be put on hold or cancelled, and the rules should be relaxed for migrants who have valid work visas. Residency visas should be based on permanent job offers only, and per-hour wage rate requirements should be removed from the permanent residency criteria.
