That the House of Representatives put an end to the use of 1080 poison.
Petition reason
It is a killer of both native fauna and targeted species. I believe NZ’s population has been sub-lethally poisoned with 1080 for decades and the information from government agencies about its breakdown being harmless is incorrect. When 1080 is added to water it dilutes but the toxic fluoroacetate molecule remains intact along with its toxic metabolite fluorocitrate. Hidden from public view many innocent animals will die slowly and in agony after consuming 1080 pellets. This is inhumane!
