That the House of Representatives urge the Government to implement more after-hours face-to-face support for people who are homeless or need assistance.

Petition reason

Many organisations like Salvation Army welfare centres and the Ministry of Social Development are closed at night and weekends, and city councils are limited in assisting after-hours. People’s situations can change leading to unsafe conditions. I believe good engagement is essential for every human being, especially at their most vulnerable times when in a bad situation. I think more after-hours face-to-face support would prevent suicide and help people feel part of society.
