That the House of Representatives urge the Minister of Foreign Affairs to seek the release of any Sikh political prisoners in India.
Petition reason
I believe that the Sikh prisoners Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara, Prof. Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar, along with other Sikh prisoners, are being held in custody as political prisoners by the Indian Government. I believe in many cases they have been held in custody even after being acquitted of some charges against them. I feel this shows Indian Government bias against Sikhs.
