That the House of Representatives require all members of Parliament—including the Prime Minister, Ministers, party leaders and all other MPs—to undergo mandatory drug testing at regular intervals under an independent, transparent and consistently applied framework.

Petition reason

Members of Parliament hold positions of public trust and make decisions that affect every New Zealander. In my view, mandatory drug testing would establish consistent accountability standards across all political parties, promote transparency and strengthen public confidence in Parliament. I believe an independent testing framework, with medical privacy protections, laboratory confirmation and fair procedures, would ensure all MPs are held to the same standards regardless of their position.
