Petition request

That the House of Representatives urge the Government to hold a binding referendum on becoming a republic and secede from the Commonwealth and sever all ties with the British Sovereign.

Petition reason

I believe we are seeing an apartheid happening. I think New Zealand has become a hybrid nation, both dominion of the United Kingdom but also partially independent. This referendum would seek to include all iwi Maori, the Prime Minister, and MPs from both sides of the House, to work together towards what I consider would be a new and brighter New Zealand/Aotearoa by majority consent. I believe New Zealand could then put history behind us in the pursuit of cohesion.
