That the House of Representatives urge the Government to increase support for families living with long-term scabies, fund additional medications for medication-resistant scabies, implement new treatment guidelines, make medications like Spinosad available, and make scabies a notifiable disease.

Petition reason

I am concerned doctors do not have the tools to cure many people. I think this condition requires attention, further research and treatments. Scabies can lead to skin infections, cellulitis, rheumatic heart disease, kidney disease and more. I would describe the condition as relentless: it can cause lack of sleep and mental distress, and affect children's education. I worry that an increasing number of people are unable to be cured and are being left to live like this.
