That the House of Representatives urge the Commissioner of Police to deploy a dedicated police officer or patrol car to a fixed post on Manukau Road during school drop-off and pick-up hours (7 am to 9 am and 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm on weekdays during the school term).

Petition reason

On 5 August 2026, a violent attack on Manukau Road during morning school hours injured three students—one critically—which I feel traumatised our community. With nine schools nearby, thousands of children are estimated to travel this road daily during peak hours. I believe a dedicated police presence at these times would provide deterrence and rapid response; and reassure students, families, and staff. I feel this would prevent future incidents and protect students travelling to and from school.
