That the House of Representatives review the parliamentary petition process to enable petitioners to connect with other petitioners on similar issues and implement a minimum number of signatures required to support a petition.
Petition reason
I believe these changes would make petitions more effective, providing a more meaningful and democratic experience for petitioners. I believe implementing a minimum number of signatures would help reduce superfluous petitions. In Dec 2024, more than 300 petitions are currently at various stages of the process, I feel reflecting the public's desire to actively participate in democracy. Changes would enable petitioners to collaborate on similar issues, making their efforts more effective.
