That the House of Representatives make changes to legislation regarding crimes against children by increasing access to the sex offenders register, stopping any kinds of reduced sentences, and not allowing permanent name suppression for people convicted of these crimes.
Petition reason
I am petitioning the House of Representatives because I believe too many children are being failed by our justice system. I believe that if we really care about children we need to ensure those who have offended against them face the full force of the law regardless of their age, race, or financial background. I also think it's unfair that innocent people may get blamed when a criminal gets permanent name suppression and media speculation begins.
